Surgery Center Procedures

The RMG IVF/Surgery Center was conceived with the goal of providing our patients a first-class site for their gynecology and fertility surgical procedures with all of the comforts and convenience of remaining under one roof. Our Surgery Center has an intimate rather than intimidating feel. Our goal is that you never feel like a number, instead that you are a part of the RMG family. At our IVF and surgery center, we aim to do everything possible to put you at ease. We are equipped with the most up-to-date technology and safety features. Our anesthesiologists are all board-certified physicians.

At RMG IVF/Surgery Center, we offer every out-patient procedure associated with improving your fertility including:

laparoscopic surgery to treat endometriosis
tubal disease
hysteroscopic surgery to treat uterine abnormalities
and every aspect of in vitro fertilization.

For our urologic procedures, we are associated with Dr. Howard Heidenberg and Dr. Jonathan Beilan, board-certified urologists. Urologic procedures performed at the RMG IVF/Surgery Center include vasectomy reversal, testicular biopsy, MESA, TESE and EEJ. Our IVF laboratory is adjacent to our operating rooms allowing for cryopreservation of sperm including that retrieved from MESA/TESE, oocyte (egg) and embryo cryopreservation.

The surgery center physicians of The Reproductive Medicine Group are specialty trained in minimally invasive laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for the treatment of endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic adhesions, tubal disease, uterine septum and endometrial polyps.

Drs. Sandy B. Goodman, Betsy McCormick, Samuel Tarantino, Timothy Yeko and Ido Feferkorn are the partner physicians of The Reproductive Medicine Group. All partner physicians have consistently been named to the “Best Doctors in America” list by US News and World Report.

The amount not covered by your insurance company will be estimated and a deposit may be required preceding surgery. A staff member will attempt to contact you prior to your pre-screening visit to discuss financial arrangements.

Patient Pre-Op Instructions and Forms

The Reproductive Medicine Group has compiled separate patient pre-op instructions and checklists based on which procedure that you will complete. Please download and print out the checklist and follow it precisely. If you should have any questions, please call us at (813) 914-7304 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST and we will be glad to assist.

Financial Arrangements

The RMG IVF/Surgery Center is AAAHC accredited facility. At the time your surgery is scheduled, preliminary insurance information will be obtained from your physician’s office.

Pricing Transparency

In accordance with Florida Law, the RMG IVF Surgery Center will provide the prospective patient or patient in writing or by electronic means a good faith estimate of the Facility’s anticipated gross charges based on the prospective patient’s or patient’s procedure as indicated by the prospective patient’s or patient’s physician at the time of scheduling her/his procedure. Prospective patients or patients should be aware that actual cost may exceed estimate provided. If the prospective patient or patient has insurance coverage for their procedure, the contracted insurance rates will supersede the gross charges estimate. The facility does not employ its own physicians. Each physician or provider of service follows his/her own billing and collection procedures. Prospective patients or patients will receive a separate bill from her/his physician, anesthesiologists, and any applicable laboratory or pathology services. RMG IVF Surgery Center makes every attempt to keep fees affordable, however, fees for services to be performed may be less at another facility. This website provides prospective patients and patients with service bundle information, which is a non-personalized estimate of costs that may be incurred by the patient for anticipated services. Actual costs will be based on services actually provided to the patient.

At any point, prospective patients or patients have the right to request a personalized estimate, update to a previous estimate and/or an itemized statement which includes a description of facility fees, charges from each department or service area by date, the contact information for health care provider, and the contact information for billing questions and disputes. Prospective patients or patients shall be provided an estimate or itemized statement or bill within 7 business days of request.

Collection Procedures Policy

Prospective patients or patients are responsible to understand their insurance coverage and their financial responsibility. Prospective patients or patients are encouraged to contact her/his insurance company for anticipated cost sharing responsibilities. Payment for services performed at RMG IVF Surgery Center are required prior to services being performed. If the prospective patient or patient has insurance coverage, RMG IVF Surgery Center will bill any in-network insurance carrier (provided below) upon completion of the procedure. For insurance carriers where RMG IVF Surgery Center is out-of-network, the prospective patient or patient will be responsible to pay for their procedure out of pocket and submit a claim to their insurance carrier for reimbursement. Any remaining balance due deemed to be the prospective patient’s or patient’s financial responsibility after the his or her insurance carrier has processed the claim will be billed to the prospective patient or patient. If a balance remains unpaid by the due date, RMG IVF Surgery Center will make 3 attempts to collect payment. If payment is not received after the third attempt, the account may be turned over to a collection agency. If the patient is unable to make payment by the requested due date, the prospective patient or patient should contact our billing department at (813) 676-8850 to discuss options. At any point, prospective patients or patients have the right to request an estimate, update to a previous estimate and/or an itemized statement which includes a description of facility fees, charges from each department or service area by date, the contact information for health care provider, and the contact information for billing questions and disputes. Services may be provided in our ambulatory surgical center by the facility as well as by other health care practitioners who may separately bill the patient and who may or may not participate with the same health insurers or health maintenance organizations as the facility.

Patients and prospective patients should contact the health care practitioners anticipated to provide services to the patient while in the center regarding a personalized estimate, billing practices, and participation with the patient’s insurance provider or health maintenance organization (HMO) as the practitioners may not participate with the same health insurers or HMO as the center.

Surgical, anesthesia, laboratory and pathology services may be billed to you separately.

Financial Assistance & Charity Care Policy

RMG IVF Surgery Center does not offer discounted services for charity care. If the prospective patient or patient is unable to pay for her/his estimated deductible, coinsurance, co-payment prior to services being provided, the prospective patient or patient is advised to contact our Billing Department to discuss options available at (813) 676-8850.
